Nutrition for Athletes

Take a Functional Nutrition approach to your diet

Eat a whole foods based diet as much as possible for peak performance.  Fruits, vegetables, lean meats, nuts, seeds etc.

Eat your greens - Organic Arugula and watercress can be two of the best things to eat everyday anyway you can.  Try to eat at least one salad a day with various greens.  Even add some protein and make it one of your meals everyday!

Drink at least 100 ounces of water.  More on hot or tough workout days.

After practice or a game, have a banana and coconut water for optimal recovery!

Plan your hydration and nutrition the night before.  Don't get caught at practice or a game without proper amounts of both.

The best hydrators are pure water with a lemon squeezed in with a dash of sea salt or coconut water.  Anything with artificial flavors or colors leave your body's immune system trying to remove them!

Keep nuts, seeds, chocolate or natural energy bars in your sports bag for emergencies!
