YES I want to play in College!

The first step in the college recruiting process is your deciding YES, I want to play my sport(s) in college!

You do not need to decide anything beyond that at first and telling your coaches, guidance counselors, teachers, parents etc.  is important.  In my experience many college recruiting deals happen by chance so letting those involved in your pre-college sports journey know your desire to play beyond high school is key.

Most importantly, always be positive when talking to college coaches.  Your mind may change weekly but always act like you are very interested in playing beyond high school when talking to college coaches.

Make sure they know that their sport is your favorite.  In the end you may end up getting a scholarship & playing your second favorite sport.

For example many female ice hockey athletes end up playing field hockey in college!
